On April 20, the Labor Inspection conducted a surprise inspection in Bucharest, targeting a land transport operator for passengers (CAEN 4939). The results of the checks were alarming: 41 individuals were identified working undeclared, which led to the imposition of fines totaling 280,000 lei.
The authority emphasized that undeclared work not only violates the Labor Code but also poses a major risk to employees, depriving them of legal protection, the right to a pension, and access to medical services. The Deputy General Inspector of the Labor Inspection, Mihai Uca, stated that this inspection is a wake-up call for employers, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
The Labor Inspection will continue to carry out checks to combat unfair competition and ensure the social protection of citizens. CAEN code 4939 includes road passenger transport services, such as coaches, buses, and minibuses.
