In an interview granted to G4Media.ro, Laura Codruța Kovesi, head of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, stated that the institution she leads is conducting significant investigations in Romania, targeting high-ranking officials in various state institutions. Although she could not provide specific details, Kovesi mentioned that there is a possibility of concluding the investigations with indictments.

Another important topic addressed was the Pfizergate case, which concerns the acquisition of vaccines during the pandemic. Kovesi expressed hope that this case will be closed by the end of her term in October, mentioning complexity and lack of resources as factors that have delayed the investigation. She also emphasized that correspondence between Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer's management is being verified. Kovesi also discussed the progress and challenges encountered in the seven years of the European Public Prosecutor's Office's activity, including investigations in Greece, where she obtained the lifting of immunity for 11 parliamentarians.
