Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated on Tuesday that if he were the president of Romania, he would offer PSD the opportunity to form a government, considering that this party holds the most mandates in Parliament. He emphasized that, from a constitutional point of view, PSD should have priority, without considering that the current government has been dismissed. Hunor criticized the idea of a technocratic government with political ministers, stating that such a combination is less effective than a purely technocratic or a political government. Additionally, the UDMR leader rejected the extension of the current government's interim until autumn, arguing that an interim government could not function effectively during the parliamentary vacation period. He suggested starting with a political option, and if that does not work, he would look for other solutions. Regarding the support for a monocolor PSD government, Hunor mentioned that it is a possibility, but he cannot make a decision without a clear nomination.
