Judge Mihail Udroiu from the High Court of Cassation and Justice has requested retirement starting November 1, with the request to be approved by the CSM. Udroiu, known for his controversial decisions, has handled high-profile cases, including the rejection of preventive detention in the Nordis case and the acquittal of former Health Minister Nicolae Bănicioiu. He was also involved in the restitution of the Revolution case at the Military Prosecutor's Office. With 23 years of experience in the judiciary, Udroiu intends to become a lawyer in Oradea after retirement.
