The judges in Italy have decided to postpone the extradition of the manele singer Dani Mocanu and his brother, who were arrested in the province of Naples and have been placed under house arrest. The main reason for the postponement is the need to verify the conditions in Romanian prisons, considering that Romania has been condemned by the ECHR for inappropriate treatment in prisons. Dani and Nando Mocanu are represented by the Italian lawyer Alexandro Maria Tirelli, who emphasized the complexity of the extradition process and the importance of details in evaluating the case. Dani Mocanu has been definitively sentenced to four years in prison for attempted murder and has other convictions for pimping and money laundering, but he avoided a heavier sentence due to a decision by the Constitutional Court. The case has generated significant interest in Romania and Italy, highlighting the difficulties of extraditions in Europe and the necessity of respecting fundamental rights.
