Dana “Marijuana” sentenced to 5 years and 4 months in prison / Decision is not final

The Constanța Tribunal sentenced Daniela Coteanu on Friday, known by her stage name Dana “Marijuana,” to five years in prison for high-risk drug trafficking and one year for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Following the merger of the sentences, she will serve five years and four months in prison.

The judges deducted the period during which the defendant was held in custody, remanded in preventive detention and placed under house arrest, starting on August 22, 2024, and continuing to the present. The decision is not final and may be appealed within ten days of notification.

In the same case, Cristi-Alin Neagu was sentenced to six years and three months in prison, while Mugur-Valentin Nicula was sentenced to six years and four months for trafficking and possession of risk drugs for personal consumption.

The case began after Dana “Marijuana” was stopped in traffic on August 22, 2024, on DN 39, in the town of 2 Mai. Testing indicated the possible presence of psychoactive substances, and prohibited substances were found in the car.
