At the West Technical High School in Timișoara, a 31-year-old teacher resigned after being accused of having an intimate relationship with a 14-year-old student from the 9th grade. Authorities learned about this situation after the student discussed it with the school counselor and then with the school principal, who, instead of immediately informing the authorities, called the teacher to communicate the accusations. Only after four days did the school management notify the School Inspectorate, which alerted the Police and the Child Protection Directorate. The Timiș County School Inspectorate took steps to inform the competent institutions and prepared a written statement for the criminal prosecution authorities. The case has been taken over by prosecutors, and the teacher, who was recently married, teaches technology in construction. The school has been involved in a previous scandal when the dormitory was subjected to a check that revealed illegal rentals.
