After the explosion in a building on Calea Rahovei, the National Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Romania (UNSAR) mobilized insurers to provide support to those affected and to facilitate the assessment and compensation of damages.
According to preliminary information, 45 affected homes are covered by optional insurance policies, which include risks such as explosions. In the Bucharest-Ilfov Region, only 30% of homes are optionally insured, while at the national level, the percentage drops to 17%.
In 2024, insurers have already paid compensations of 183 million lei for homes, an increase of 9% compared to the previous year. Optional policies offer extensive protection, covering various risks, including damages caused by natural disasters and equipment failures.
