On international markets, fuel prices have increased by 40-60% due to supply chain disruptions, affecting all countries, including Romania. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the authorities are analyzing the supply situation and the evolution of prices, seeking solutions to temper the increases.
Technical teams will continue their work until the end of this week, and at the beginning of next week, a new meeting will take place to finalize the necessary measures. Bolojan emphasized that interventions must be well thought out to avoid shortages caused by the arbitrary capping of prices. Additionally, a reduction in excise duties should lead to a real decrease in prices without affecting the budget for 2026. The Prime Minister rejected populist solutions, stressing the importance of effective and sustainable measures.
