Customs inspectors and border police discovered 106 pistols and 60,000 cigarettes following a check in Calafat.

On the night from Thursday to Friday, at 2:00 AM, customs inspectors from the Mobile Teams Service in Calafat, together with border police from Giurgiu, stopped a truck on the route from Turkey to Germany for inspection.

Following the checks, 106 9 mm caliber pistols were discovered, including 80 Glock pistols and 25 HS-9 Sub Compact pistols, along with approximately 60,000 cigarettes without documents of origin. Authorities continue investigations to establish the circumstances and take necessary legal measures. The Romanian Customs Authority emphasizes the importance of collaboration with competent institutions to prevent illegal trafficking and protect the security of citizens in the European Union.
