The Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) will implement a European regulation that governs short-term rental of apartments and rooms.

This will include the assignment of a unique number for each unit, thus facilitating listing on rental platforms. Additionally, a single data download point will be created to improve transparency and communication between member states. Director Alin Grigore emphasized the need to simplify rental procedures, which are currently similar to those for hotels, generating bureaucracy.
