Radu Miruță said that the roof of the Praid Saltworks is thinning due to water seepage from the slopes, and heavy rain could cause the structure to collapse. This would cause a major ecological impact, including the formation of a saturated saline lake and groundwater contamination. Although technical drainage measures have been implemented, they are insufficient. The minister stresses the need for rapid intervention to prevent a natural disaster.
