Hubert Thuma, the president of the Ilfov County Council, accuses the prime minister of the "USR-ization" of PNL and of mismanaging the economy, suggesting that Romania is in recession.

Hubert Thuma, a critic of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan within the PNL, stated that Bolojan is trying to transform the party through a "USR-ization". Thuma, who proposed that Bolojan run for president in 2024, accused the Prime Minister of refusing this opportunity, suggesting instead candidates from other parties. In a show on Antena 3, he claimed that Bolojan has led the Romanian economy into recession, a similar accusation to that of the PSD.

Thuma emphasized that Bolojan has not had good relationships with former party leaders and criticized the absence of a clear message from PNL for the business environment. He also mentioned that the measures taken by Bolojan are correct, but there is a lack of transparency in communicating them. Thuma concluded that Romania is heading towards technical recession, and economic problems cannot be resolved quickly.
