On June 26, 2025, Hidroelectrica announced the award of the contract for the construction of a floating photovoltaic panel system under the Nufărul Pilot Project, worth 39,250,000 lei. The project will increase renewable electricity generation capacity and diversify the company's portfolio. Located on the reservoir of the Hidroelectrica Ipotești power plant, the system will include 10 MW photovoltaic panels, generating about 13.4 GWh/year. The works will last 14 months and will involve modern equipment and sustainable solutions.
