Hidroelectrica has signed a contract worth almost 40 million lei for the realization of its first floating photovoltaic panel system, called "Nufărul", in Olt County. The project, won by Waldevar Energy, will include the installation of bifacial photovoltaic panels and will have a total capacity of 10 MW, generating about 13.4 GWh/year. The aim is to diversify renewable energy production and harness the potential of reservoirs. The project is considered an important step in the integration of hydropower and solar energy in Romania.
