At the Vidraru dam, the modernization works within the Vidraru Hydroelectric Project continue, and the installation of some essential components is being carried out with the help of a helicopter, due to the difficult access in the area of the water intake. The operation is part of a strict technological interval, correlated with the draining and refilling of the reservoir.

The refilling of the Vidraru lake is scheduled to begin at the end of March, after the completion of the works on the hydromechanical installations, and the authorities and Hidroelectrica hope that by autumn the lake will reach the minimum technical level necessary to restart at least one hydro unit and resume electricity production and water supply to the downstream localities.
