The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, emphasized that the Bolojan Government will be dismissed if the social democrats decide to leave the coalition, stating that there is no need for a vote of no confidence to provoke the fall of the Executive. Grindeanu mentioned that PSD is conducting an internal "referendum" to consult members regarding the continuation of their presence in the coalition, and the result will be announced after the budget is finalized.
If the measures requested by PSD are not included in the budget for 2026, the party will not support the project. Additionally, PSD conditions the adoption of measures to reduce public administration spending on the implementation of measures for economic recovery. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan acknowledged that, although he does not exclude a minority government, political stability is essential. Claudiu Manda, the general secretary of PSD, warned that Bolojan could be dismissed through a vote of no confidence, highlighting a decision by the Constitutional Court that prohibits the appointment of the same prime minister after such a dismissal.
