A 61-year-old man from Dâmbovița has been remanded in custody for raping his 12-year-old granddaughter over a three-year period.

Police in Dâmbovița have arrested a grandfather accused of sexually abusing his granddaughter for three years. On July 24, after a search of the man's home, he was detained and a protection order was issued for the 12-year-old girl. Evidence established that the abuse took place between 2023 and June 2025. The man was remanded in custody for 30 days and the investigation continues.
