MoD: Gerbera drone observed in the Black Sea, in the Costinești area, without explosive payload.

The Ministry of Defense was informed, on Sunday morning, about the presence of a floating object in the Black Sea, in the Costinești area, Constanța County, through a call to 112.

Following this call, a Puma Naval helicopter of the Romanian Naval Forces was dispatched to the area to participate in the search operations. The intervention teams identified a Gerbera-type drone.

A team of EOD combat divers was mobilized and assessed the object, determining that it did not present an explosive charge.

The drone was subsequently taken over by the Coast Guard. The Ministry of Defense ensured that all necessary measures were taken to verify the safety of the area.
