George Simion, the leader of AUR, stated that he was contacted on Monday evening by a presidential advisor, who allegedly told him that it would be a good thing for AUR to vote for the Adrian Veștea Government. Simion did not reveal the name of the advisor and emphasized that he did not confirm that Nicușor Dan would agree to AUR's involvement in the government. The conversation took place before the vote in Parliament, in which the Veștea Government did not obtain the necessary number of votes to be invested. The Cotroceni Palace reacted, stating that President Nicușor Dan is not aware of this discussion and that he has not mandated anyone to negotiate with AUR. Simion also requested a meeting with Veștea to discuss possible support. The Veștea Government only obtained 189 votes, thus missing the investment.
