George Simion, the leader of AUR, stated that Romania's position regarding the Mercosur agreement is not the result of authentic political consensus, but a decision imposed from above, having negative consequences on Romanian agriculture.
In a show moderated by Ionuț Cristache, Simion emphasized that the support for the agreement is based on a political vision contrary to national interests, linking the decision to the appointments of Nicușor Dan and Ilie Bolojan. He stated that the ideology behind this agreement will destroy Romanian agriculture. Additionally, Simion criticized PSD for its double talk, accusing them of lacking accountability in the face of the vote, even though the party has the largest political weight. He characterized the vote as "treacherous" and called for a real reaction from the social democrats.
