The gas deposits in Romania are completely filled, reaching 100% capacity one month before the start of the cold season, according to storage operators' data. Romania and Poland are the only European countries that have reached this maximum capacity, while the average filling rate in the EU is 85%. Scandinavian countries, such as Denmark and Sweden, have a filling rate of about 50%, while Ukraine is facing a storage rate of only 24% due to the impact of the war. Romania has a total storage capacity of 3.2 billion cubic meters and relies on local production and imports for the cold season.
