Dumitru Chisăliță, the president of the Intelligent Energy Association, stated that fuel prices should not rise in the coming days, but they could be affected by tensions in the Gulf.
If the situation worsens, diesel could reach 10 lei per liter, and gasoline could reach 9.1-9.2 lei per liter, having a direct impact on inflation and the costs of products. The expert explained that, in the case where the price of Brent oil rises between 95-105 dollars per barrel, gasoline could reach 9-9.10 lei per liter, and diesel between 9.90 and 10 lei per liter.
Chisăliță emphasized that the oil market is more fragile than in the past, due to reduced stocks and risks of military escalation. A new increase in fuel prices would affect the economy, raising inflation and the poverty of the population, considering that diesel influences the costs of all products and services.
