A detainee from the Giurgiu prison has received a new arrest warrant for attempted murder, after attacking another detainee with a homemade knife.

The incident took place on September 3, when a 32-year-old inmate from Ialomița attacked another 33-year-old inmate from Galați, using a handmade knife. The aggressor, who already had a conviction of over eight years for attempted murder, was placed in preventive custody. The victim was transported to the hospital, but his condition is stable. The authorities were alerted by representatives of the prison via a 112 call.
