The police discovered in Mehedinți a network that had defrauded the Guarantee-Return System by deactivating the packaging collection equipment, causing a damage of over 1 million lei.

In Strehaia, Mehedinți County, the police discovered a criminal network that defrauded the Guarantee-Return System (SGR) by deactivating the packaging compaction devices. This allowed the reintroduction of packaging into machines, thus illegally obtaining guarantees and management fees amounting to 1,097,293 lei. Five searches were carried out in Bucharest and the counties of Mehedinți and Ilfov, targeting two commercial companies and suspects involved in the establishment of an organized criminal group, fraud, forgery in writings, and tax evasion.

Investigators identified three suspects from Strehaia, who allegedly misled a packaging collection company through false contracts. They also prepared false accounting documents to avoid paying tax obligations. Operation 'JUPITER' was coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Mehedinți Tribunal, with the support of police from Ilfov and Bucharest, and investigations are ongoing.
