Four employees of a hotel in Brașov, including the director and the manager of the SPA center, have been sent to trial for bodily harm through negligence, after a client suffered severe burns following a fire. The incident occurred in March 2022, when the young woman used an improperly diluted aromatic substance that caught fire.

The victim suffered burns on 40% of her body and was disfigured. The investigations lasted almost four years, and prosecutors claim that the employees did not properly instruct the client and were not prepared to intervene in case of an emergency. Additionally, the hotel did not have a fire safety authorization. The accommodation unit is also being sent to trial, and prosecutors have placed a lien on a property of the company to ensure payment of damages.
