Ramona Lile, former rector of the "Aurel Vlaicu" University in Arad, is being investigated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Arad Tribunal for "offenses related to service and forgery". The criminal complaint was filed by the university following an external audit that revealed financial irregularities, including payments made without supporting documents using a card associated with the institution's current account. The card was used by Lile for expenses such as travel abroad, accommodation, and meals, without any receipts or invoices being presented. Hearings have not yet begun, as the case has been assigned to a prosecutor who is on leave. In this context, Lile recently won an appeal that allows her to return to the position of rector, temporarily occupied by someone else, but she has not been confirmed by the former Minister of Education.
