The former Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, stated that Romania urgently needs investments in palliative care centers and services for the elderly, following a recent case in Bihor. He mentioned that during his term, he reported to the General Prosecutor's Office and DIICOT after an incident in a hospital, which led to extensive checks on some centers in Bihor.
Rogobete emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration and allowed justice to do its duty without political pressure. He also criticized the negative reactions from some groups contesting the intervention of state institutions. At the same time, the 'Good Samaritan' Association, which cares for 380 vulnerable individuals, was targeted by DIICOT raids for forming an organized criminal group and human trafficking. The Ministry of Labor activated a crisis cell following DIICOT's actions, which aim to dismantle a group exploiting vulnerable individuals under the guise of a humanitarian association.
