The National Federation of Trade Unions in Administration (FNSA) will organize protests on October 29, in front of the Government, to express their dissatisfaction regarding the possible freezing of the gross minimum wage in the country starting in 2026. Trade unionists emphasize that such a decision would be unfair and illegal, affecting nearly two million workers. The protest coincides with a meeting of the National Tripartite Council for Social Dialogue, where this topic is being discussed.
FNSA criticizes job cuts in administration and austerity measures, stating that these do not solve the budget deficit but directly affect employees. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan acknowledged the financial challenges and emphasized the need for proper personnel planning, leaving open the possibility of consultations with social partners. The National Trade Union Block drew attention to the legal obligation to increase the minimum wage, warning that freezing it will diminish the purchasing power of the population.
