The trade unions 'Cartel ALFA', CNSLR-Frăția, CSDR and Meridian are organizing a protest on Wednesday in front of the Government, claiming major social and economic issues. Among their demands are the increase of the minimum wage and pensions, fair taxation, and the cessation of austerity measures that only affect vulnerable individuals. The unionists emphasize that Romania has the highest rate of working poor in the EU and are calling for urgent measures to ensure a decent living.

The protest will include requests for correcting fiscal imbalances, protecting jobs and investments in the economy, as well as repealing measures that affect education and health. The 'Sanitary Solidarity' Federation is joining the protest, demanding specific improvements for health employees, including salary indexing and unblocking positions. The protest will take place between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, mobilizing all those who wish to make their demands for fundamental rights heard.
