The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) issued a red flood warning on Tuesday evening for rivers in the counties of Prahova and Dâmbovița, as a result of the forecasted precipitation and its propagation.
The warning is in effect from Wednesday, from 03:00 to 12:00, for rivers in the Ialomița and Prahova watersheds. Hydrologists estimate significant runoff on slopes, torrents, and streams, as well as rapid flows in small rivers, with possible local flooding effects. Additionally, increases in flow rates and levels are expected on some rivers in the Olt, Ialomița, Argeș, and Siret basins, with the risk of exceeding flood protection levels.
In the context of the dramatic situation caused by recent floods, ISU Prahova issued a Ro-Alert message to warn the population about the red hydrological warning.
