A severe weather code red has led to several flights being diverted to Bucharest. Ryanair's flight from Chania landed in Varna, while other Wizz Air and KLM flights were diverted to Constanța and Budapest. Around 17:30, 15 planes were waiting to land in Bucharest, but were affected by severe weather conditions. Weather forecasters issued warnings for gale warnings, initially code orange, then changed to code red.
