Flavia Boghiu, former deputy mayor of Brașov, has been acquitted by the Brașov Court in a corruption case in which she was accused of abuse of office. The court ordered her acquittal and that of co-defendant Manolache Cristine, also rejecting the civil action of the Municipality of Brașov for damages. Boghiu was accused of allowing an association to use the property "Catacombs Brașov" without approval, which would have led to a damage of 304,010 lei. She also explained that the case was reopened following a complaint from deputy mayor Sebastian Rusu, who was involved in the management of the heritage. Due to the accusations, Boghiu did not run in the local elections of 2024.
