A fire in a building in Tomești, Iași, left a woman in cardiac arrest and two men with burns. Firefighters evacuated two other women and three children.

On Monday afternoon, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 1st floor of a building in the town of Tomești, Iași County, causing an emergency situation. A woman was found in cardiac arrest, and two men suffered burns to their faces and hands. Firefighters quickly intervened with three fire engines, a platform for rescues from heights, as well as SMURD ambulances and those of the County Ambulance Service. In total, two other women and three children were evacuated safely.

The intervention teams worked to evacuate the smoke accumulated in the stairwell, preventing the spread of the fire. During the intervention, the forces were supplemented with mobile intensive care teams to provide medical support to the victims.
