The Sector 2 City Hall has imposed fines totaling 128,000 lei for irregularities in granting medical leave, following an unusual increase in the number of such certificates. The checks were carried out after the reorganization of the administrative apparatus, which led to a 50% increase in medical leave in July 2025, generating additional expenses of 250,000 lei. A total of 22 violations were identified, with 11 warnings and 15 fines, most of which originated from Bucharest and Ilfov.

The most common irregularities include the lack of employee certificates and discrepancies between medical records. The City Hall emphasized that the purpose of these actions is not to penalize those with genuine needs, but to protect public funds. Collaboration with the competent institutions will continue to ensure compliance with the legislation.
