On Sunday, Iași was hit by extremely strong gusts of wind, with speeds reaching up to 90 km/h, according to weather warnings. The roof of a building was torn off and thrown onto the street, and several trees were uprooted. The wind lifted large amounts of dust, affecting visibility and creating discomfort for pedestrians and drivers, who reported difficulties in breathing due to dust particles. Traffic on the roads was hindered, and some drivers were forced to stop due to fallen branches on the roadway. Additionally, the half-marathon competition was canceled after the organizers' tents were destroyed by the wind, and runners took shelter in Palas Mall. Authorities advised the population to avoid unnecessary travel and to be cautious of unstable objects.
