The Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, announced the expansion of the 'E - Safe - Integrated Road Monitoring System', which will collect images from surveillance cameras installed by local authorities and from drivers.

Cătălin Predoiu emphasized that this system does not represent a 'Big Brother' type program, but a 'digital shield of protection' for road safety. Starting in January 2025, information from the 700 mobile cameras of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be digitally centralized. Additionally, a percentage of the fines paid will be directed towards road education and the maintenance of technical systems. Cătălin Predoiu mentioned that artificial intelligence will be used to monitor traffic, facilitating the quick identification and sanctioning of violations. This system will reduce bureaucracy and improve efficiency in law enforcement.
