An explosion caused by the accumulation of gas in a building in Buzău injured a 64-year-old man, with second and third degree burns.

On Sunday, an explosion occurred in a building on Aleea Industriei in the municipality of Buzău, caused by a gas accumulation, without triggering a fire. Following the incident, a 64-year-old man suffered second and third-degree burns on approximately 12% of his body surface. The Buzău County Ambulance Service crew responded quickly, stabilizing the victim on-site and urgently transporting him to the Emergency Reception Unit of the Buzău County Emergency Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters mobilized intervention teams, including special vehicles for transporting victims and extinguishing fires. The electricity supply was interrupted for the safety of the residents, and representatives of the gas distributor are conducting checks. The exact cause of the explosion will be determined after the investigations are completed.
