Excessive trust in artificial intelligence (AI) leads more and more patients to question the competence of doctors, often coming up with their own diagnoses based on information found online. This trend has led to conflicts between patients and doctors.

An example is a 30-year-old man who arrived at the County Hospital in Galați with a severe infection. Although doctors recommended urgent surgical intervention to save his life, the patient was reluctant, relying on information obtained from ChatGPT. Dr. Constantin Truș, a surgeon, emphasizes that AI applications cannot replace medical consultation and that self-diagnosis can have serious consequences. This situation highlights the risks associated with dependence on technology in the healthcare field.
