A man from Arad has been arrested after kidnapping and murdering his ex-partner by dragging her 1.5 km by car.

The man, charged with femicide, was detained after he killed his 28-year-old ex-partner over a disagreement. The victim was dragged over a mile and died from her injuries. The case is the 33rd femicide in Romania this year, sparking calls for stricter protection measures for victims of domestic violence. The man will be presented to the court with a remand proposal.
