The National Environmental Guard has carried out, this year, 40 inspections at the national level, aimed at combating illegal activities related to the exploitation and commercialization of truffles and edible mushrooms. As a result of these actions, fines totaling nearly 1.8 million lei have been imposed. Representatives of the Guard emphasized the importance of protecting biodiversity and protected areas, considering the negative impact that illegal exploitation of these resources can have on the environment. The inspections targeted both traders and individuals involved in these activities, and the authorities continue to monitor the situation to prevent abuses.
