Checks carried out by the Environment Ministry's Control Body at Romsilva revealed financial losses of more than 83% in 2023-2024, unjustified bonuses and mismanagement of funds. Minister Diana Buzoianu sent the report to the Public Prosecutor's Office, emphasizing the need for urgent reform. It also found wide discrepancies in the performance of forestry directorates, with staff costs exceeding turnover in some cases. The report justifies referrals to the authorities for possible criminal acts.
