The mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, explained that the checks carried out by the DNA at the city hall have no connection to the subway project, but focus on a conflict between two associated companies. Boc emphasized that the city hall is merely a collateral victim in this criminal investigation, which involves mutual complaints between the two companies.

The mayor also mentioned that the institution has collaborated with the authorities, providing the requested documents. Additionally, the former prime minister assured that the investigation does not affect any municipal projects and that there are no blockages caused by these checks. These statements were made in the context of the opening of the Wonder Destinations tourism fair in Cluj-Napoca.
