Ciucu explained that the bribery accusation is based on information suggesting that certain individuals used his name to solicit money during last year's electoral campaign, without his involvement. The mayor vehemently denied having taken any sum of money or having conditioned the issuance of urban planning documents on obtaining material benefits.

He mentioned that the timing of the allegations is unfavorable, as there are many ongoing projects at the city hall, and he expects the investigation to consume time and energy in the coming years. Ciucu promised that he will continue to work for the city, regardless of the legal challenges he faces.
