Emeric Ienei, one of the greatest coaches in the history of Romanian football, was buried with military honors in the 'Rulikowski' Cemetery in Oradea, at the age of 88. The ceremony was emotional, gathering approximately 500 people, including big names from Romanian football and former players from Steaua. Ienei is known as the only Romanian coach to have won the European Champions Cup in 1986, following a memorable final against FC Barcelona. The funeral service was officiated in Romanian and Hungarian, and his coffin was placed on a gun carriage. The President of Romania and former great athletes sent wreaths of flowers, and the procession was greeted with red and blue torches. After the ceremony, a sports announcer spoke about Emeric Ienei's career and legacy, highlighting his impact on Romanian football.
