President Nicușor Dan expressed, on Wednesday evening, a message of condolences following the death of Emeric Ienei, considered a legend of Romanian football. Dan highlighted not only Ienei's exceptional performances but also his balanced, elegant, and noble character. He was a model of modesty and professionalism, inspiring entire generations. Ienei had a significant impact on domestic sports, being the coach of the Steaua Bucharest team, which won the European Champions Cup, and managed to qualify Romania for a World Championship after 20 years. Nicușor Dan conveyed condolences to the family and to all those who admired and appreciated Ienei.
