On Monday evening, nearly 60 people were evacuated from an apartment building in Caracal after a strong smell of gas was detected in the area. Crews from the Caracal Detachment and the Slatina Detachment intervened on site, including a fire truck, a CBRN vehicle, an SMURD crew, and a first response vehicle. So far, 59 people have been evacuated as a precaution from three floors of the building. One bedridden person was evacuated by rescuers and taken over by a crew from the County Ambulance Service. Additionally, crews from gas and electricity operators have interrupted the supply of gas and electricity to the building, and firefighters are working to ventilate the stairwells.
