eMAG, the leader of online commerce in Romania, has announced an internal reorganization that will affect employees from several departments, with a team reduction of approximately 3%. Company representatives emphasize that this measure is necessary to build a financially sustainable business in the long term and to effectively respond to the needs of millions of active customers and sellers. In recent years, eMAG has grown rapidly, reaching over 11 million app downloads and 7 million customers. However, the company reported a loss of approximately 191 million lei in 2024, in the context where the net turnover was nearly 9 billion lei. This reorganization comes as a reaction to the financial challenges faced by the Dante International Group, which operates the eMAG and Fashion Days platforms, having 3191 employees in 2024.
