Dragoș Sprinceană, a businessman from the USA, has made serious accusations against George Simion, the leader of AUR, claiming that he lobbied for Romania to be excluded from the Visa Waiver program, in order to gain electoral capital against the governing Coalition. Sprinceană states that he learned about these actions during a visit to Romania, where he discussed with Simion.

AUR responded that the accusations are merely personal opinions and that they are interpretations of a close associate of the PSD-PNL government. Additionally, Sprinceană emphasized that he insisted on the reintroduction of Romania into the Visa Waiver program, accusing the governing parties of a lack of communication on this subject. Romanian authorities initially announced that Romania would be included in the program in March 2025, but the decision was later suspended. In this context, PNL proposed a bill to prohibit the use of public funds in campaigns that affect Romania's image.
