The Minister of European Funds, Dragoș Pîslaru, reacted to the criticisms from the Social Democratic Party regarding the loss of 458.7 million euros from Payment Request 3 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Pîslaru accuses PSD representatives of being responsible for this situation, stating that they delayed the necessary reforms. He emphasizes that the reforms should have been completed in the first quarter of 2023, but the request was submitted with a 9-month delay, during the mandate of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
Pîslaru mentions that the former Government delayed the reforms, which led to the partial suspension of payment by the European Commission. He points out that the main issues needed to be resolved by ministries led by PSD, including the reform of special pensions and the governance of state-owned companies. Pîslaru concludes that the loss of funds is the result of delays and political appointments in companies.
